FROM Qlik Connect 2024
WHERE Location = ‘Orlando’
Last week had the opportunity to participate in “Qlik Connect 2024” global Customer and Partner event in Orlando. The message from Qlik was very confident, strategy is sound and backed up by leading solutions proven by thousands of customers and millions of users.
1.Outcomes
One of the key messages delivered on the stage by CEO of Qlik Mike Capone was “we are obsessed with helping customers find the opportunities in their data, and most importantly, drive outcomes.”
Urban Outfitters, facing the challenges of the pandemic, rebuilt their data infrastructure and now uses Qlik in all their stores daily.
Penske utilized Qlik’s predictive analytics to prevent failures in over 90,000 trucks.
2. Gradual Transition to the Cloud at Your Own Pace
Qlik believes in a gradual transition that respects existing investments and collaborates with you (the customer).
There are some IT vendors who insist “you must move to the cloud immediately”, but as delivered on the stage “we [Qlik] believe the cloud is the future and most companies aim to get there, we want to transition with you, respecting your current investments in premise-based systems”.
3. Real-time Data
Qlik ensures real-time data integration across any cloud platform, such as Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks and many others. As an example, Vanguard (investment advisor company with about $7.7 trillion global assets under management) uses Qlik to Replicate 11 billion of transactions per week with 3-8 seconds latency and with ZERO incidents of data loss ever.
Seamless real time data integration is what currently is missing in many existing legacy DWH solutions. The Qlik’s ability to efficiently manage large volumes of data across various cloud platforms I expect will provide management with more timely insights immediate decision-making.
Another customer example leveraging real time data integration capabilities is Airbus.
4. Data Quality
“Garbage in garbage out” is what we learned about machine learning in university. The current enthusiasm for AI makes this even more crucial. Qlik is currently a leader (as recognized by Gartner) in ensuring data quality. One of the new products announced at Qlik Connect is Qlik Talend Cloud, which provides robust data quality management.
Companies like Hilton (23 brands comprising 7600 properties with 1,2 M rooms) are using the capabilities like Data Profiling and Cleansing which helps to detect and correct inconsistencies and inaccuracies in over 80 TB of data, enhance data with external sources and add validation rules will drive more accurate and reliable business decisions. Improved data quality reduces the time spent on data correction. Or avoid penalties by ensuring compliance and meeting regulatory standards.
But most importantly, only using trusted and reliable data, AI is becoming actionable, and you can trust its recommendations. “Better data = better outcomes”, as highlighted by CEO of Qlik, Mike Capone.
5. Data Transformations
Transformation capabilities help to convert raw data into a usable format to support analytics, so after data cleansing (removing inconsistencies and errors), combining data from various sources into data warehouse or a data mart leverages a visual interface and automated data preparation tools.
As an example, this data pipeline prepares a data mart with push-down SQL into Snowflake data platform.
6. Ask Anything About Qlik Analytics Data, Including Your Unstructured Data – Qlik Answers
Qlik was one of the first to introduce AI capabilities to the Qlik Sense platform back in 2018 – Insight Advisor. A few years later, they enhanced this with Qlik AutoML, which tackles critical business tasks such as optimizing marketing campaigns or conducting risk analysis.
Now, with Qlik Answers, users can leverage these advanced AI features even further – with all the security and governance controlled by you (the customer).
Qlik Answers allows users to ask questions such as “Why are so many orders predicted to be late?” or “Can you analyze thousands of emails or call logs to uncover business insights?” All based on structured and unstructured data from companies’ private, curated sources such as knowledge libraries and document repositories.
7. Qlik (continues to) solve Business-Critical Tasks
During the general session Penske logistics explained how Qlik is enhancing fleet management through its Fleet Insight platform – real-time monitoring of vehicle maintenance, compliance, and health, while also offering comparative insights using Penske’s data. It enables easy tracking of connected units on a map and streamlines rental management with access to agreements, contracts, invoices, and reservations. Additionally, it provides 24/7 access to billing and invoicing and customizable dashboards and scheduled reports for comprehensive fleet visibility. By leveraging Qlik’s analytics and real-time data capabilities, Penske improves operational efficiency and decision-making.
From our region, clients included Finland’s “KONE” and Danish “Nordisk Film Studio” from the Egmont group. I also had in-person discussions with representatives from “Ford Motors,” “Honda,” and one of the major US insurance companies which uses Qlik to analyze their business with over 90 million customers giving insights to both internal employees as well as 19 000 insurance agents.
The ability of Qlik to combine various data sets and extract insights to get to the roots of problems and make right decisions timely is what all clients emphasize.
8. AI-powered data insights for EVERY Employee in the Company (Qlik offers now unlimited users)
Since Qlik can provide real-time data insights and AI-based recommendations, highlighting key KPIs and allowing users to find their answers, why limit this information to analysts, department heads, and executives? Qlik’s new “Capacity” licensing offers this – unlimited users across the entire organization, whether there are 100 or 10,000 employees. If branch employees can access personal KPI performance and customer analytics to improve performance by even a few percentage points, the cumulative improvement for the company can be significantly greater.

As an example, Fujitsu empowers all 120,000 employees with Qlik Data Analytics, promoting a data-driven management culture and increasing operational efficiency through seamless integration with cloud-based SAP solutions.
9. Qlik’s Rise and Complete Vision
Qlik’s rise is evident from the packed sessions, showcasing a comprehensive and sound vision for the future. This vision is supported by proven solutions and numerous customer success stories.
Qlik has evolved into a full end-to-end data, analytics, AI, and automation platform. An important decision in this evolution was to ensure flexibility, meeting you where you need us. This commitment to flexibility and comprehensive solutions indicates a promising path ahead for Qlik and its community.
