- Qlik Cloud October 2025: what’s new
Direct Access gateway 1.7.8 introduces both new and enhanced features, and resolves several issues. For upgrade instructions and a list of resolved issues, see Upgrading the Direct Access gateway installation
The Databricks connector was recently enhanced with two additional authentication mechanisms, which are now supported with Direct Access gateway:
Both these use the general OAuth 2.0 flow, which is supported by both Databricks-managed or Microsoft Entra ID-managed accounts. To learn more, see Create a Databricks connection.Note: Not supported in Qlik Cloud Government. Not supported in Qlik Cloud Government – DoD.
Overriding the default starting port set by process isolation
When process isolation is enabled, you can now override the default starting port (49152) that Direct Access gateway uses for inter-process communication with all isolated connector processes. This can be useful when the default port is in use by another process. To override the port, set the DATA_PORT_RANGE_START property to the desired port either by editing the configuration.properties file or via the Public API.
We’ve made your workflow smoother by introducing dismissible dialogs in the applications! Now, when you see an informational or warning message, you can dismiss it once, and it stays dismissed. With this update, you can:
It’s a small change that makes a big difference in usability, helping you move faster and stay focused.
Areas can now be shown in the combo chart when using a line. Making it easier to show the magnitude of the data instead of just trend. The areas can also be stacked to show the total magnitude.
Monitored Charts just got a major upgrade! Enjoy a cleaner, more powerful experience for tracking key metrics across your applications.
Here’s what’s new:
Whether you’re following critical KPIs from multiple applications or building a custom landing page for your organization, monitored charts now makes it simpler and smarter to stay on top of what matters most.
A new configuration API is now available for Qlik Sense connectors in Qlik Cloud Governmentand Qlik Cloud Government – DoD. This API allows you to update the access to data sources in your tenant by enabling or disabling the related connectors, making the list limited for the connection creators.
All data sources continue to be enabled by default. Disabling a data source will hide it everywhere in the Qlik Cloud Government and Qlik Cloud Government – DoD user interface, i.e. in the Analytics activity center, Data manager, and Data load editor. All use of it, for example in data reloads, will be disabled as well.
The API is available only to users with the Tenant Admin role.
To learn more, see Data sources on the Qlik Developer site.
Note: Not supported in Qlik Cloud Government. Not supported in Qlik Cloud Government – DoD.
A new scope in Qlik Cloud now gives administrators full control over permissions related to Insight Advisor.
The scope is divided in two areas.
Permissions in User Default and custom roles
The Databricks connector has been enhanced with two additional authentication mechanisms:
Databricks OAuth Service Principal
Databricks OAuth User Account
Both these are using the general OAuth 2.0 flow, allowing for both Databricks-managed or Microsoft Entra ID-managed accounts.
Additionally, authentication with Personal Access Token is now an explicit option, and basic authentication (with username) is removed, as it is no longer supported by Databricks.
The update is now available in Qlik Cloud Analytics, and it will later be integrated in the Direct Access gateway and Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows.
To learn more, see Create a Databricks connection.
We’re making application sharing and access management in Qlik Cloud more seamless and user-friendly! Now, when users try to open an application they don’t yet have permission for, they’re no longer stuck with a dead-end “Access denied” message. Instead, they can directly request access—streamlining collaboration and helping ensure the right people can get to the right content faster.
With improved application visibility and easier access requests, discovering and working with relevant content has never been simpler. This update removes frustration, boosts productivity, and empowers users to connect with the insights they need.
New search enhancements to Qlik Answers help deliver answers with more precision and speed. These enhancements include searching metadata such as file names and keywords as a part of the search process. The search enhancements also help sort when there is overlapping information available. For example, if your knowledge base contains car policies for multiple countries, the new experience helps ensure your questions for a specific country gets the right set of documents.
The search enhancements are available by re-indexing your knowledge bases. We’ll automatically pull in the file names and extract keywords from your documents during this process. If your knowledge base is already on a daily indexing schedule, it will start using the enhanced search after the next scheduled index.

The shapes add-on has been a great success. Since many have asked for it, we’re now adding support for images in the line chart. Great way to add context and improve readability. Add the images from the media library or from a custom URL

A new Pivot processor is now available as part of Data Flow in Qlik Cloud Analytics, enabling no-code pivoting of rows into columns. Simply select the fields and aggregation options, no scripting required.

With the latest release, you can now import a project branch from version control in Qlik Talend Cloud.
This is particularly useful if you want to review another developer’s project or collaborate on a project. Importing a project from version control also enables sharing a project with other spaces or tenants, for instance between development, quality acceptance and production spaces.
You can browse projects by selecting the repository, the branch and the base path directory. The embedded wizard will guide you through the process of customizing sources and targets connections as well as task settings.
Go to the project page of your tenant and click on the green Create new button at the top right of your screen to get started.

Knowledge mart tasks automate the transformation, vectorization and loading of data into a vector store to support custom semantic search and retrieval-augmented-generative (RAG) AI applications. Structured data can be curated into domain oriented documents that can be vectorized alongside unstructured documents for a variety of use cases. Previously knowledge marts only supported Snowflake as the data platform
Knowledge Mart and File-based Knowledge Mart tasks now support:
Delivery to vector stores:
Embedding via customer-provided LLMs:
The SQL editing interface is redesigned to provide a better experience for SQL developers. The new user interface now offers a state-of-the-art SQL editor which includes:

In addition to the above, the SQL editing experience still offers syntax highlighting, auto-completion, auto-parameterization, auto-formatting, undo/redo, and the SQL Assistant.
You can now see how many datasets each semantic type is applied to.
What’s available
From the Data Quality section, the list of semantic types now includes a count of the datasets where each type is discovered. This improvement helps you quickly understand the coverage of detected patterns across datasets and identify which semantic types are most commonly found in your data.
Why this matters
By showing how often semantic types are used, you gain better visibility into data pattern coverage, supporting a clearer understanding of the impact of an update or deletion.
You can now create validation rules that compare a date/time field with a duration using new binary operators:
is in the lastis not in the lastis in the nextis not in the nextThese operators let you check if a date or date/time value falls within or outside a specified time window in the past or future.
To help you assess reliability faster, the Qlik Trust Score™ is now surfaced directly in the data product overview. Alongside this key addition, we have also improved the overall page structure for quicker comprehension:
Data product managers can now enable access to their data through OData-compliant APIs.
What’s available
With this release, any data product published in the platform can be securely exposed via an OData-compliant API endpoint. This means customers and partners can query, filter, and consume data using a widely adopted open standard, with seamless interoperability across tools and ecosystems.
Key benefits for customers
Why this matters
By offering OData-compliant APIs, we’re making it easier than ever for customers to unlock the value of their data products whether embedding them into internal dashboards, powering workflows, or enabling external partners.
